On Tuesday, August 27th, the competition “The Next Generation: Rover” has started. It is created by the organizers of the European Rover Challenge along with hosts of the most popular science social media channels in Poland: Dr Tomasz Rożek from „Nauka. To Lubię”, Piotr Kosek from „Astrofaza” and Karol Wójcicki from „Z głową w gwiazdach”.

What it is about?

Followers of social media channels mentioned above are tasked to come up with an idea for a future application of the next generation of rovers in one of three places: Earth, Mars or the Moon. Participants can share their suggestions in a form of a comment under the competition post on Facebook.

Five winning ideas from each fanpage, signed with the author’s names and surnames, will be used in a e-book report entitled „The next generation: rover” which will be published after the fifth edition of ERC competition. The winners will also receive movie posters promoting the publication, with autographs of Dr Tomasz Rożek, Karol Wójcicki and Piotr Kosek.

The question about future applications of rovers on Earth, Mars and the Moon will become the basis for the report. We plan to ask it, among others, the deputy head of NASA. The possibility of appearing in the same publication side by side with him is a real treat for fans of science and space.
