The team behind TAYGETA is part of the university group STAR Dresden e.V. at Technische Universität Dresden, Germany. Alongside the ERC, our group takes part in a variety of other projects including the REXUS/BEXUS program of SNSA and DLR and the development of a sounding rocket and cubesat in cooperation with DLR. Hence, plenty of our team members already have experience in work relevant to the ERC.
The members of our ERC team come from several different disciplines, with aerospace engineering taking up the greatest share, followed by computer science, electrical engineering and mathematics. Most members are undergraduate students, with a few aiming to graduate during the project duration and two graduate students. During our first two outings at ERC in 2021 and 2022, we scored fifth place twice and secured the award for “best probing task” last year. With plenty of experience from ELECTRA and MEROPE, we aim to improve and innovate our rover design and follow up on last year’s success.
