Project MarsWorks is a team of passionate students, coming from various departments across the university, sharing one single goal of building a MarsRover to represent our university at ERC. ERC is a great opportunity for any university student to get hands-on experience building a rover while simultaneously learning how the industry operates and expanding their network. Our team of 20 students is split into five sub-teams which are software, electrical, mechanical, development and operations teams, and, we have weekly wider team meetings to ensure project ownership among every member. 2019 was our team’s first entry into the competition. We were able to build our first rover from scratch, qualify for ERC and receive positive feedback. We are currently in preparation for the upcoming competition, and we are working on incorporating all the lessons learned from the past years into our new rover design.
