UQ Space is one of the largest and most advanced student teams in Australia. As a STEM team, we provide students with hands-on experience, real-world learning and unparalleled exposure to cutting edge technology from high-school through to PhD. We’re one of the only teams in Australia working on both rocketry and rover projects, in competitions in Australia and around the world. Primarily, UQ Space develops rockets and rovers. Rockets reach altitudes from 5,000 to 30,000 feet. Almost all components are designed and manufactured by the team (inc. airframes, parachutes, flight computers, payloads, etc.) Rover projects are similarly bespoke, completing objectives in competition tasks relating to excavation, construction, soil sampling, water extraction, and autonomous navigation.
