TEAM DESCRIPTION

UPC Space Program is a student-led association based in Terrassa, Catalonia, Spain with the goal of teaching, building and ultimately learning by doing. The team has four main projects, each with a specific field: ARES, dedicated to rocketry; ATLAS, designing and building drones; HORUS, focused on nanosatellites; And GRASS, which builds, designs and tests rovers to compete worldwide and simulate missions to mars and beyond.

For the ERC competition, the GRASS team is responsible for the design and work of the rover, while ATLAS focuses on the drone, with the project name “Grass-Hopper”.

Our team has qualified for five consecutive years to the ERC finals, which serves as proof of our team’s continuous hard work.

In the last several years, our team has gained a lot of traction, receiving visits by government officials and big sponsors, helping us reach a larger audience and resources. We also run workshops in local schools, participate in events and fairs, both locally and internationally and help younger students fuel a passion for space and exploration.
