TEAM DESCRIPTION

THKU Rover Team is a student engineering team from the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association in Ankara, Türkiye. Our team consists primarily of aerospace engineering students who are passionate about space exploration, robotics, and planetary science. We are working on the design and development of an autonomous Mars rover capable of operating in challenging terrain and performing scientific exploration tasks.
Our rover project focuses on mobility, autonomy, and scientific experimentation. The rover will be designed with a six-wheel rocker-bogie suspension system, onboard sensors, and a robotic arm for sample collection. Through this project, our team aims to gain hands-on engineering experience while contributing to technologies relevant to future planetary exploration missions.
Our team is also supported by Yeşilyurt Municipality of Malatya. The municipality recognized the value of our project and decided to support our team as a sponsor. This support encourages our team to continue developing innovative technologies and proudly represent our university and our country in the European Rover Challenge.
By participating in ERC 2026, we aim to strengthen our engineering skills, promote scientific collaboration, and inspire future students to pursue careers in space technologies and planetary exploration.
