IntroductionSuRover was established in 2020 as a sub-branch of the IEEE club at Sabancı University. The team comprises 21 undergraduate students from diverse disciplines, including Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Molecular Biology, Genetics and Bioengineering, Material Science and Engineering, and Visual Arts and Communication Design. This interdisciplinary collaboration is SuRover’s greatest strength which enables innovative approaches to both technical and non-technical challenges. These efforts have led to the development of our latest rover: Legacy V2. The name reflects how every achievement today is built upon the collective efforts of past and present team members throughout the years, creating a lasting legacy. The team is organized into five sub-teams: Mechanics, Electronics and Software, Communication, Science, and Business Development. Each sub-team is led by a captain who oversees tasks, guides members in their learning, and ensures collaboration. This structure not only provides technical expertise but also brings managerial experience to captains, developing leadership and problem-solving skills. SuRover’s members bring experience in research, experimentation, and competition. The team has been a finalist in competitions such as the Anatolian Rover Challenge (ARC) and Teknofest, both held in Türkiye. With continuous improvement, SuRover is now aiming for the finals of the University Rover Challenge (URC) and the European Rover Challenge (ERC). These indicate the experience SuRover gained in field testing, reporting, and system design in the last years. The team benefits from guidance provided by industry professionals and academic advisors, who offer insights into engineering challenges and project optimization. With their help, our current research efforts focus on sensor fusion, wheel and suspension designs, and vision-based control systems, all critical for ensuring the rover’s reliability and performance.
