TEAM DESCRIPTION

The Sapienza Technology Team is a team of students from Sapienza University of Rome and comprises of over 60 members. The team design and build rover prototypes since 2016.
The projects are entirely developed within the team, both in terms of software programming and physical realization through interaction between various subgroups, each with specific skills. The team is composed of students from different fields (aerospace engineering, artificial intelligence and robotics, electronics, management…) both from bachelor’s and master’s degrees. This allows for the best use of existing skills and the development of new ones through collaboration among different subgroups.
In addition to the competition, the team also includes a subsection dedicated to the training of younger members and participation in internal competitions, while another subgroup is responsible for research and development of innovative solutions that will be implemented in future rovers. We collaborate with companies like Revolve Tech based in Rome, which provide advanced CNC and manufacturing services. Additionally, we partner with specialized companies in PCB production, including PCBWay and JLCPCB. Dassoult Systèmes provides us with licenses for the essential Solidworks CAD software for design, while our collaboration with 3D Robotics supports us in selecting motors and drivers for our rover. Raw materials and welding and bending processes are provided by companies such as A.Pontecorvo & C.S.p.a and Costruzioni Metalmeccaniche Bacchetta Luca.
