TEAM DESCRIPTION

Project Marsworks is the University of Sheffield’s Mars rover team. We have been around for 9 years, progressing from a small mini rover weighing no more than 5kg to our current competition rover, the Deimos 1. We have had a history of competing in the ERC back in 2021, as well as the ARC more recently in 2025, where we placed 7th. This year, our new rover has 45 engineers, over £15,000 in funding and backing from IBM, Space Fleet and Liberty Rock, as well as many more companies who have been willing to help us out. As a team, we have spent the last few years preparing for our return to the ERC, and finally, we are ready to try our hand again at one of the biggest rover competitions in the world! Winning the competition is the prize we are after; however, we can settle for scoring higher than the Imperial Rover team, as they are our closest rivals here in the UK!
