We are Makercie, the first-ever Dutch team participating in the ERC and associated with the University of Groningen. We are an interdisciplinary team of AI, CS, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics students, with almost 30 members from 13 different countries, brought together by the shared passion for space exploration, robotics, and science.

We were established in 2022, and this year’s edition will be our first time participating in the ERC, which means we have the drive to succeed and prove ourselves. Our goal is to represent our University to the best of our ability, and we aspire to inspire a new group of STEM students from UG to showcase the talent that can be found here. This competition gives us the opportunity to develop our skills at an exciting pace, and our organization, work ethic, cooperation, and technical abilities are sure to prove themselves in our performance in the challenge.

We have managed to gain the support of companies and organizations like the Innovation Cluster Drachten and the Engineering and Technology Institute Groningen, for which we are very thankful.
