IKARUS R&D Team is a community founded by Samsun University students in 2017 and aims to contribute to national aviation with its innovative projects. It works with more than 50 team members from different engineering disciplines in fields such as UAV, rocket, artificial intelligence and material science.

The team became the first in Türkiye in the TUBıTAK 2242 Competition in 2023 and 2024, and has achieved many successes in various categories in TEKNOFEST competitions. It also made its name known internationally by representing our country in the Airbus Sloshing Rocket competition held in Portugal in 2024.
