TEAM DESCRIPTION

Team Horizon, a student-led robotics club at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in India, was established in 2019 driven by a shared passion for space exploration and robotics. Aiming to excel in international robotics competitions, we foster a culture of innovation and collaboration. This dynamic team of 56 undergraduate students, dedicated to self-improvement evident from their impressive achievements, is transforming the setbacks to growth.

In our first ever European Rover Challenge (ERC) in 2023, we secured an impressive 19th rank globally, solidifying our position as one of the leading rover-making team in India. This achievement not only cemented our place on the international stage but also inspired a wave of new student-run rover teams across the nation. From humble beginnings to soaring achievements, we were also in the top 100 at the Urban Rover Challenge (URC) in 2021.Also in 2022, we were the 32nd rank holder in ERC and one of the top teams in URC.

We have honed our skills and spread our knowledge by conducting workshops and fostering industry collaborations and advanced without technical experts and relying solely on the student members. Thus Team Horizon’s story is not just about achievements; it’s a testament to the power of collaboration and self-reliance.
