TEAM DESCRIPTION

DJS Antariksh, the official Martian Rover Team of Dwarkadas J. Sanghvi College of Engineering, Mumbai, India, was established in the academic year 2019-20 with the primary goal of fostering innovation in space exploration. Comprising 60 undergraduate students in their 2nd and 3rd years from diverse engineering disciplines, the team is dedicated to advancing the frontiers of exploration through technological advancements. Despite its inception amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the team successfully manufactured its inaugural rover, named “Prayaan”, signifying the commencement of the expedition into space exploration. The subsequent development of their enhanced rover, “Abhyaan”, within a timeframe of fewer than 6 months underscores the team’s unwavering commitment to excellence. The team aims to enhance its capabilities and increase the potential of our new rover “Vidyaan” for the European Rover Challenge 2024. Organized into five departments—Electronics, Mechanical, Coding, Science, and Marketing—the team operates seamlessly, to excel in both technical and non-technical aspects.
The team’s journey is marked by a series of remarkable achievements, showcasing the prowess on the global stage. From securing podium finishes at competitions like the International Rover Challenge and the International Space Drone Challenge to their consistent success at the European Rover Challenge, the team has continually expanded its knowledge by participating at international levels. The team’s debut at the European Rover Challenge in 2020 marked the beginning of a remarkable journey, culminating in multiple victories and special category awards in subsequent years. The achievements owe much to the continual guidance provided by our esteemed faculty advisors, Dr. Amit A. Deshmukh and Dr. Sanjay Deshmukh, as well as the steadfast support extended by our sponsors, namely Ansys, SolidWorks, and Spectra Connectronics.
