Dark Matter is an ambitious robotics team from the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of space exploration technology with limited resources.
Our rover “Spectrum” and drone “AURA” are designed to demonstrate that world-class robotics doesn’t require million-dollar budgets – it requires creativity, determination, and engineering excellence. With a budget of just $3,600 USD, we’ve built a fully functional Mars rover prototype featuring:
• 6-wheel rocker-bogie suspension system
• Autonomous navigation using ROS and computer vision
• 4-DOF manipulator arm for sample collection
• Deep drilling capability (35cm)
• MATLAB/Simulink-integrated drone for aerial reconnaissance
Our team of 18 engineering students represents the bright future of Bangladesh’s space technology aspirations. We believe that innovation comes not from abundant resources, but from the determination to solve complex problems with creative solutions.
“From Bangladesh with Innovation” – We are Dark Matter, reaching for the stars!
