TEAM DESCRIPTION

The Blazers Rover Team is a multidisciplinary student engineering team passionate about advancing robotics, planetary exploration, and space technology in Africa. Based in Nigeria, our team brings together students from diverse engineering and STEM backgrounds who share a common vision of developing innovative robotic systems capable of operating in extreme environments similar to those found on Mars.

Our team was formed with the mission of building practical engineering solutions while fostering collaboration, creativity, and technical excellence among students. Through the design and development of our Mars rover prototype, we focus on integrating robust mechanical systems, intelligent control, and efficient power management to tackle complex exploration challenges. Our rover incorporates features such as a rocker bogie suspension system for rough terrain mobility, onboard cameras for navigation and hazard detection, and a robotic arm designed for sample collection and interaction with the environment.

Beyond competitions, Blazers aims to inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists in Africa by demonstrating what student led innovation can achieve. Participating in international rover competitions provides us with the opportunity to test our ideas, learn from global teams, and contribute to the growing ecosystem of space technology and robotics development across the continent.

We are grateful for the support and encouragement from our mentors, university community, and partners who continue to believe in our vision.
