Founded in March 2022 by three members, the ARES Project is a student-led planetary robotics team based in the Tohoku region and Tokyo, now expanded to over 40 engineers. Leveraging an agile development methodology, we have designed and tested eight rover generations, leading to our successful international debut at the 2024 University Rover Challenge (URC). We are currently optimizing our systems to meet the rigorous technical standards of the European Rover Challenge (ERC). Our ultimate objective is to transition our applied robotics research into practical contributions for real-world space exploration.
