The journey of the IUT Mars Rover began in 2015 with a group of passionate and visionary individuals who dared to dream beyond their limits. They aspired to design and construct the next generation of Mars rover, a project that would enable humans to explore the Red Planet alongside the Astronauts. They were ambitious, determined, and driven by their unwavering passion for space exploration. They were the team called IUT Mars Rover- Team Anirban.

As time went on, the team grew and in 2018 a new team named IUT Mars Rover- Team Avijatrik came into play. Both teams brought tremendous success in several competitions upholding the name of Bangladesh in global arenas. The major competitions include European Rover Challenge, International Rover Design Challenge, University Rover Challenge etc.

As a continuation of the legacy, last year we competed at the global finale of the European Rover Challenge being the Champion team in Asia. We realized our dream of being the global champion will only be possible if we can bring the best people, and the best resources of IUT all together, And with this thought this year we planned a merger of both teams under a single shield naming it Altair Robotics. A robotics society which will integrate the best capabilities of IUT.

Besides, the Mars rover project we also aspire to build drone and nanosatellite-based projects named ICARUS and PHOENIX in the future. We, the Altair Society of Robotics, are a group of dreamers and innovators on a mission to make a long-lasting impact on the world of robotics and space exploration. With our boundless creativity and firm determination, we are confident that we will achieve great things Inshaallah.
