  1. Temperature on Mars oscillates between +55°C in summer and -130°C in winter. Sometimes it’s even colder.
  2. A day on Mars is called “sol” and is 24 hours and 37 minutes and a year on the Red Planet is 687 Earth days.
  3. There are two moons around Mars. They are named after mythological sons of Ares and Aphrodite: Phobos and Deimos.
  4. Mars is the fourth planet in the Solar system. It is located 230 million km from the sun.
  5. Mars is almost half the size of the Earth and its mass is only 10% of our planet’s mass.
  6. The sun setting on Mars is blue.
  7. Currently there are six orbiters, one lander and one rover operating on Mars.
